With painting sessions, demos and critiques, Duane Keiser, the originator of "a painting a day", will lead a dynamic three-day workshop on premier coup oil painting. Premier coup, or direct painting, [also known as alla prima painting] refers to a method by which the artist applies each stroke of paint to the canvas with the intention of letting it stand in the picture as part of the final statement. Included will be a talk on being a painter in the digital age which will include Keiser's unique take on the current state of the internet, social media and the business of art. The workshop is open to all skill levels, though you should have a working understanding of the painting process.
