After-School Art Classes for Kids & Teens at Winslow Art Center

Winslow Art Center offers kids and teens the opportunity to explore a variety of art media, from painting and drawing to three-dimensional mixed media exploration, cartooning, fashion illustration and more. Working with professional artists, students celebrate creativity and self-expression as they explore new art techniques.


Mixed Media Mondays
(Early Release Mondays at Winslow Art Center)
This engaging and dynamic after-school program is perfect for the child who wants to learn many art techniques, while creating diverse and imaginative projects.  Explore many types and styles of art, including  drawing, painting, collage, papier-maché and wire sculpture, polymer clay and whatever else inspires you!  

Ages 8 and Up

Drawing & Painting
Ages 8-12
in this fine art program, your child will learn to "see"  in new ways while gaining a fundamental understanding of how to draw and paint. Students will be introduced to the fundamentals of light, perspective, color, and drawing.  Budding artists will strengthen their confidence while having hands-on fun. All levels.

Teen Drawing/Portfolio Development
Ages 13 and up
Learn to draw the world around you with confidence and understanding as you take your skills to the next level. Through demonstration and hands-on practice, learn to create drawings that seem as solid as the real thing. Learn about value and shape, figure/ground relationships, how to use a plumb line and why drawing instructors keep telling you to squint! This is an ideal starting place for creating a portfolio All levels.

Introduction to Digital Photography
Two-Day Workshop

Explore the principles of photography and the features of your point-and-shoot digital camera and gain an understanding of the elements of art and design. Students will use their camera's features and their understanding of these design principles to create photographs of people, places and things that are important to them.
Ages: 6th-8th Grade

The Art of Handwriting
Pam Galvani
Have you always wanted to improve your handwriting but didn’t know where to begin? Do you wish you could pen a simple thank you note or a clear report without resorting to the keyboard? This is the class for you! Using both pencils and ball-point pens, we’ll practice establishing habits that will guarantee a clear, legible and flowing handwriting.
Pam is offering this class to both adults and kids. Minimum age is 10.
Parent/child teams are encouraged!
