Winslow Art Center is nestled in the center of Bainbridge island’s thriving downtown corridor.
A 35-minute ferry, (Note: Ferry schedules fluctuate by season and day of the week.) ride offers convenient access to Bainbridge Island from Seattle. When leaving Coleman Dock you have a choice to drive a car or walk on. In addition to walking on at a significantly reduced rate, you will incur no parking issues upon arrival to the island. A call ahead will alert us to your arrival and we would gladly connect with you for the 10 block ride to our downtown Bainbridge Island Studio. Parking on Bainbridge is a premium. When driving onto the island for a class please use the back load and unload access behind the art center to drop off your painting gear before moving to find parking. Most downtown corridor parking is 3hrs. We advise students to set an alarm as a reminder to move your car. Failure to abide will likely result in a parking violation of 50.00 by the City of Bainbridge. Winslow Art Center staff and community are well versed in the parking conversation so please do not hesitate to ask for support around parking.
Coming from the Kitsap Peninsula, a bridge over Agate Pass connects you to Bainbridge Island via Highway 305.
From the Seattle ferry, turn left onto Winslow Way and proceed 1/4 mile. We are located upstairs in the Winslow Mall at 278 Winslow Way East in Suite 205.

Policies around Registration and refunds
Classes/Workshops that do not meet the minimum size will be canceled. The decision of whether or not to run a class will be made 7-10 days prior to the class start date. Year in and Year out Winslow Art Center strives to expand the horizons and improve the skill set of its community. To that end, the Winslow Art Center strives to bring faces, ideas, and inspiration to our lineup of classes and workshops. Early enrollment ensures your new favorite class or workshop will fulfill.
If Winslow Art Center must cancel a class, all fees and charges will be promptly refunded.
“Supply lists” are the lists that instructors provide to the students at registration. These may also be found on our website under “class details and registration”. Students must purchase these items on their own and bring to class. Classes are fluid almost up to the day of the class so to ensure you have the latest information around your upcoming visit please check the website prior to arrival.
REFUND POLICY: No refund of any tuition paid 44 days prior (or less) to the class or once a workshop begins. We always feel badly when a personal emergency arises after this time period. However, we must strictly adhere to this policy. There will be a nonrefundable cancellation charge of $95.00 per workshop or class. No-shows will not receive a refund, regardless of the circumstances. If you drop out of a class once it has started, you will not receive a refund. There are no discounts or refunds for missed classes or late registrations. We highly recommend travel insurance. We reserve the right to cancel any workshop, in which case we will make a full refund.
HOLD HARMLESS: I agree to hold harmless the Winslow Art Center, its officials, its employees and agents for any and all claims for personal injury and/or property damage in which damage and injury is or appears to be proximately caused in whole or in part by my participation in this program.
PHOTO PERMISSION: I give permission for the Winslow Art Center to use, without limitation or obligation, photographs which may include my image or artwork for purposes of promoting the Arts Council’s programs. Winslow Art Center strives to achieve flattering photos as well as more focus on the class, teacher, and work produced than individuals.
